Pinterest Tips for Wedding Professionals

The first thing you will want to do as a wedding professional looking to utilize Pinterest to gain clients, is to create a Pinterest business account. This will help to drive possible customers off of Pinterest and onto to your website.

Next, you will want to create specific wedding category boards such as Wedding Gowns, Engagement Portraits, Wedding Florals, etc. Use those boards to showcase weddings you have planned, arranged flowers for, photographed or done other work for. Drop a watermarked photo on your board so the future bride can see and find you easier.

Focus on keywords by utilizing Google or Pinterest to see what comes up when you start typing. For example, wedding floral, then see what comes up to help guide you on what keywords will be helpful to get people to come to your pins. Some keywords might be Pastel Wedding Florals, Colorful Wedding Florals, Wedding Flowers Summer, etc. Imagine what your ideal client is searching for and target those.

Your pin title should be more like a compelling title so focus on keywords. You only have 100 characters for the title so keep it focused and direct.

The pin description is 500 characters but only the first 30-60 show up in the feed. Keep your focused keywords first with more interesting description to follow.

It might be tempting to pin as many items as possible but it’s important to pin only relevant content that your ideal client will want to see. Make sure to pin inspirational content from others, in addition to your own, in order to avoid getting flagged as spam. If this happens it is difficult to get your account back so if you can avoid it altogether, it will be much easier.

Tailwind is an awesome tool to schedule pins in advance so you don’t have to spend everyday working on getting pins out there. Tailwind looks at your followers and figures out the best times to pin and will automatically send them out.

Vertical pins perform better than horizontal so try to stick to that format. Be sure to use high quality images when creating pins. You want crisp, clear photos because blurry photos won’t attract customers. 8-12 pins a day seems to be enough to generate attention but not too much to be reported as spam.

Use your account to re-pin other similar content that your followers might find inspiring or helpful. Make sure that any content you re-pin is similar to the brand you are promoting, Follow these tips and watch your business grow exponentially.

We hope this tips are helpful in empowering you to market on Pinterest! Pinterest is an incredible tool for wedding industry professionals to share their work, reach potential clients, & more. Happy pinning!
